Green Glazed Ewer with 
Bowstring Pattern
Han Dynasty

     This ewer of clay-
based red pottery has a 
dish-shaped mouth, a 
waisted neck, a distended 
belly, and  a  flat  base 
with  a  false  ring  foot.  
It is coated on the outside 
with green lead glaze with 
silver splashes.  The belly, 
shoulder and neck are 
decorated with bowstring 
motifs.
